GFP Leucistic axolotls have very little skin pigmentation giving them a yellow/green s’kin color & pink/red gills, They are not pink as traditional Leucuistics due to the GFP (green fluorescent protein) genetic trait. Unlike albinos that lack all pigmentation, these axolotls have dark-colored eyes and sometimes freckles on their heads and/or body. The GFP genetics create a glowing effect under BLUE led lighting.
