Wild Type axolotls are the closest you can get to heir wild cousins from Lake Xochimilco. Their coloration will always differ, but Wild Types are generally a mottled brown color, with black, green, and/or yellow spots. With their spotting they usually appear a shade of green. They may also produce iridaphores on the skin making them shimmer and sparkle when light hits their skin just right !

Notice:

Due to unique genetic variations across the species, your axolotl may not look identical to the axolotls on our website.
